MAXIMIZE Your Skin Care Benefits!!

The skin is the largest organ of the body?yet we abuse it everyday. The number one cause of aging skin is sun exposure. Soaking up the sun's rays used to be considered healthy before we learned all about the dangers of ultraviolet rays. Too much sun can cause wrinkles, freckles, skin texture changes, dilated blood vessels, and skin cancer. Using sun protection on a daily basis in conjunction with a good cleanser and moisturizer will help prevent skin damage and reduce the risk of cancer. Although most people are aware of the need to use sun protection, most do not use it routinely to prevent photodamaged skin. Fortunately, not only can we protect our skin with the daily use of sunscreens but there are multiple procedures now available to help fight the effects of aging, sun-damaged, or acne scarred skin. One of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed today is Microdermabrasion. This is a non-invasive exfoliating procedure performed to revitalize and maintain the skin's appearance and smoothness. Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals to loosen dead skin cells that form on the surface improving dull or uneven skin color. It also helps to unclog pores/blackheads, diminish fine lines and acne, as well as hyperpigmentation. Light chemical peels are also a good alternative to treat photodamaged skin. They intensively exfoliate in order to accelerate the cell renewal process, stimulate collagen, and improve elastin fibers in the dermis, revealing a more youthful and radiant complexion. They gradually improve the appearance and texture of your skin without irritation or inconvenience. Chemical peels are safe non-invasive procedures that deliver effective results, yet require little to no down time. Your skin care specialist can develop an at home pre and post treatment regimen for optimal results. Typically a series of six sessions are needed with lighter chemical peels. In addition, this procedure can be used in conjunction with other treatments. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), also known as photorejuvenation, is another noninvasive tool used to reverse the signs of aging. This procedure uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths to correct a variety of benign skin conditions, such as facial skin imperfections, signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, unsightly small veins, and other blemishes. Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, four to six sessions spaced two to three weeks apart may be needed.
